HILARY CI PARLA DAL SUO BLOG ! 20/6

Wow, the weekend was so exciting that I 4got to mention a very important event I attended which is very close to my heart. Along with Stan Curtis, who has a charity organization named USA HARVEST and who is committed to feeding people in America in need of food, we created a program called Blessings in a Backpack. I understand that children in other countries are starving and hungry; but what many Americans don't understand is that there is an alarming amount of people right here in America who go to bed hungry and wake up hungry because they don't have the resources to buy food.
With our Blessings in a Backpack program we chose an inner city school in need of food and resources. Then, every Friday there are over a thousand backpacks and the parents stuff them with food and beverages so that over the weekend kids will be able to eat and keep their minds and bodies well fed.
The school we chose was Normandie Elementary School in LA. We have been stuffing backpacks for about 6 months. Over the 6 months, teachers, students and faculty from the school wrote letters, both statistical and personal. I was moved to find out that test scores went up overall because when the children come on Monday, now they have food and nutrition in their minds and bodies so therefore they can study. We also found out that 99% bring their bags back to the school to be stuffed again! Graffiti also went down considerably during the weekend. It warms my heart to be involved in charities. I love to give back and when I see people smile; No money can pay that amount.
Well, gotta go, Oh yeah, the kids sang a song for me and we stuffed bags.

Wow, questo weekend è stato così eccitante che mi sono scordata di raccontarvi un evento molto importante per me e che mi è vicino al cuore. Insieme a Stan Curtis, che ha una organizzazione di carità chiamata USA HARVEST e che è si dedicato a dare da mangiare alal gente che in America ha bisogno di cibo, abbiamo creato un programma chiamato Blessings in a Backpack.
Capisco che bambini in altri paesi muoiono di fame; ma la cosa che molti americani non capiscono è che c'è un numero allarmante di gente qui in america che va a letto affamata e si svegliano affamatierchè non hanno i soldi per comprare da mangiare. Con il programma Blessings in a Backpack abbiamo scelto una scuola di una citta inurbata he aveva bisogno di soldi e cibo. Poi ogni venerdì ci sono + di mille zaini i genitori li riempiono con cibo e bibite così nel weekend i bambini hanno la possibilità di mangiare e essere in forma con la mente e con il corpo sazio.
La scuola che abbiamo scelto è Normandie Elementary school in LA: Abbiamo riempito zaini x circa 6 mesi. Durante i sei mesi insegnanti studenti e la facoltà della scuola hanno scritto lettere, sia statistiche che personali. Sono stata commossa quando ho saputo che i risultati del test shanno superato il limite perchè qundo i bambini vengono il lunedì sono in grado di studiare perhcè hanno gli stoaci pieni . Ci siamo anche accorti che 99% dei ragazzi riportan i loro zaini completamente vuoti x averli riempiti di nuovo. !!! i Graffiti sono diminuiti considerabilmente durante il weekend. Mi riscalda il cuore quando sono coninvolta in attività di carità. Amo dare quando vedo la gente che sorride; nessun?altro premio mi può soddisfare di +.
bene, devo andrae, e i ragazzin hanno cantato una canzone per me mentre riempivamo gli zaini.
