Pop princess HILARY DUFF struts her stuff in a bikini on the cover of Shape magazine, on newsstands June 29.
The former "Lizzie McGuire" star, who turns 20 this September, reveals that growing up in Hollywood caused her to do so at an accelerated rate. Even so, she is "still a girl" and, while she is a pretty well-grounded one, she is not immune to the pressures of living her life under the microscope that is the media.
"Being in the public eye, it is really hard," she admits. "Everyone is constantly criticizing you and picking you apart. You see these magazines and people are enjoying themselves on the beach, and people are zooming in on their cellulite. They notice everything about their body. It is mean and it is hard to stay sane."
It was when she turned 16 that Hilary made the conscious decision to get in shape, but more importantly, to get healthy.
"My friend was on tour with me and we made each other eat healthy," she recalls. "We ate a lot of protein, lots of veggies and oatmeal for breakfast. We tried to find a healthy mix, but still eat things that you like, but doing a trade-off. For example, if we wanted to eat dessert, we tried not to eat bread before a meal, or if we wanted to eat bread, we tried to lose dessert."
These days, Hilary is constantly on the go. She released her latest CD, Dignity, this year, she has her Stuff by Hilary Duff clothing line, plus her With Love... Hilary Duff perfume, all in addition to her acting career.
"Work out," she advises. "It makes you feel good to work out. It doesn't have to be strenuous and boring. What I [used to think] was when you work out, you have to break a sweat, it is not about that."
These days, the teen queen is very much into Pilates, and she enjoys swimming laps or treading water, which firms her up. But she recalls a time when she got too thin. And it was her sister, HAYLIE DUFF, who cautioned her that she wasn't being healthy.
As a result, Hilary got involved with the "Stay fit. Eat right. Looking good, California!"™ campaign.
"Stay healthy, eat healthy, eat what is good for your body and what gives you energy -- and feed your sweet tooth every once in a while. That is the best way to go," she says.

La mia amica Taylor era in tour con me e ci tenevamo entrambe sotto controllo,
mangiavamo molte proteine, verdure e cose leggere a colazione..cercavamo di fare un mix salutare,
ma sempre mangiando cose ke ci piacevano..qlcs di equilibrato. Per esempio se volevamo mangiare il
dolce cercavamo di nn mangiare il pane durante il pasto..e se mangiavamo il pane non prendevamo
il dolce.
In questi giorni hil e' sempre indaffarata. Ha pubblicato il suo ultimo Cd, Dignity,e qst anno ha
gestito la sua linea stuff by duff e il profumo With Love..tutto in aggiunta alla sua carriera.
"Lavorare", consiglia, "ti fa stare bene lavorare..non deve essere estenuante o noioso."
In questo periodo la star pratica molto Pilates,e le piaciono gli sport acquatici, ke la tonificano.
Si rimprovera un periodo in cui era troppo magra, ed e' stata sua sorella, Haylie, a farle notare
di non essere proprio in salute.
Infine Hilary e' entrata a far parte della campagna "Stay fit,eat right, looking good, California"
(stai in forma, mangia sano, stai bene california!).

Wow, the weekend was so exciting that I 4got to mention a very important event I attended which is very close to my heart. Along with Stan Curtis, who has a charity organization named USA HARVEST and who is committed to feeding people in America in need of food, we created a program called Blessings in a Backpack. I understand that children in other countries are starving and hungry; but what many Americans don't understand is that there is an alarming amount of people right here in America who go to bed hungry and wake up hungry because they don't have the resources to buy food.
With our Blessings in a Backpack program we chose an inner city school in need of food and resources. Then, every Friday there are over a thousand backpacks and the parents stuff them with food and beverages so that over the weekend kids will be able to eat and keep their minds and bodies well fed.
The school we chose was Normandie Elementary School in LA. We have been stuffing backpacks for about 6 months. Over the 6 months, teachers, students and faculty from the school wrote letters, both statistical and personal. I was moved to find out that test scores went up overall because when the children come on Monday, now they have food and nutrition in their minds and bodies so therefore they can study. We also found out that 99% bring their bags back to the school to be stuffed again! Graffiti also went down considerably during the weekend. It warms my heart to be involved in charities. I love to give back and when I see people smile; No money can pay that amount.
Well, gotta go, Oh yeah, the kids sang a song for me and we stuffed bags.

Wow, questo weekend è stato così eccitante che mi sono scordata di raccontarvi un evento molto importante per me e che mi è vicino al cuore. Insieme a Stan Curtis, che ha una organizzazione di carità chiamata USA HARVEST e che è si dedicato a dare da mangiare alal gente che in America ha bisogno di cibo, abbiamo creato un programma chiamato Blessings in a Backpack.
Capisco che bambini in altri paesi muoiono di fame; ma la cosa che molti americani non capiscono è che c'è un numero allarmante di gente qui in america che va a letto affamata e si svegliano affamatierchè non hanno i soldi per comprare da mangiare. Con il programma Blessings in a Backpack abbiamo scelto una scuola di una citta inurbata he aveva bisogno di soldi e cibo. Poi ogni venerdì ci sono + di mille zaini i genitori li riempiono con cibo e bibite così nel weekend i bambini hanno la possibilità di mangiare e essere in forma con la mente e con il corpo sazio.
La scuola che abbiamo scelto è Normandie Elementary school in LA: Abbiamo riempito zaini x circa 6 mesi. Durante i sei mesi insegnanti studenti e la facoltà della scuola hanno scritto lettere, sia statistiche che personali. Sono stata commossa quando ho saputo che i risultati del test shanno superato il limite perchè qundo i bambini vengono il lunedì sono in grado di studiare perhcè hanno gli stoaci pieni . Ci siamo anche accorti che 99% dei ragazzi riportan i loro zaini completamente vuoti x averli riempiti di nuovo. !!! i Graffiti sono diminuiti considerabilmente durante il weekend. Mi riscalda il cuore quando sono coninvolta in attività di carità. Amo dare quando vedo la gente che sorride; nessun?altro premio mi può soddisfare di +.
bene, devo andrae, e i ragazzin hanno cantato una canzone per me mentre riempivamo gli zaini.

MMVA 2007! [ 6/18/2007 ]

OMG, I was in Toronto this weekend for the MuchMusic Video Awards Show and I had so much fun! We left on Friday and stayed until today. Fergie was there and Avril and Maroon 5 and lots of cool Canadian Bands. I performed With Love. It was cool! Fatima (Choreographer/Director of Stranger) came up with the concept of six girls in cute trench coats acting like paparazzi, snapping pics, and then everyone starts dancing around the whole stage. I have some pics of rehearsal and from when we did the sound check. I have 2 say that Canadian fans always have my back and support me. They gave me the Peoples Choice Favourite International Artist Award; I was shocked. Fatima also won for best video with Fergie.After the show, I did a few interviews and threw a huge "after" party. The whole band and crew and over a thousand people were there! There was so much love and positivity in the air. I got to chill with the MuchMusic VJ's and my friend Amber Tamblyn introduced me and I also saw Leah from MUCH. I had the best time.We stayed out late celebrating; I have to go, we have a 6am pick up to fly back to the States. B sure 2 check out my pics.

C'erano così tanto amore e positività nell'aria. Ho potuto divertirmi con i Vj di muchmusic e la mia amica Amber Tamblyn mi ha presentata. poi ho anche visto Leah da MUCH. e' stato un bellissimo weekend.Siamo stati a festeggiare fino a tardi, dv andare, abbiamo un volo delle 6 da prendere x tornare negli states. Actress/singer Hilary Duff reportedly skipped a party because of the presence of ex-boyfriend Joel Madden with his current girlfriend Nicole Richie.
The 19-year-old was set to attend YSL Center Dance Arts party at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
According to New York Daily, Duff was not informed earlier that Madden would also be there with Richie.
The 'Lizzie McGuire' actress came to know about that the couple will be there, just 30 minutes before the party, and dropped her plans to attend it at the last moment.
Duff started dating the 'Good Charlotte' singer in 2004 after splitting with singer Aaron Carter and the two broke up in November 2006.

Da dove comincio? Sto divertendomi, questa settimana eravamo a Sacramento per uno show radio con 107.9 KDND. Ci siamo divertiti. Era all' aperto mi sono rilassata con il bel tempo.
Ho cantato 12 canzoni con la mia band. C' erano altri artisti come Gym Class Heroes, Katherine McPhee, The Click 5 e Ne-YO.
Abbiamo firmato autografi e i fan erano impazziti!! Devo dire che mi sto divertendo molto con la mia nuova band. Tutti sono così mitici e tranquilli. Siamo un bel gruppo.
Dopo lo show siamo andati in un bel ristorante di Sushi abbiamo riso, parlato e ci siamo divertiti un po'. Mi piace Sacramento è una boccata d' aria fresca.
La mia settimana è andata bene, sono tornata a Los Angeles e ho solo una prova di quasi 5 ore. Ci stiamo preparando per il tour estivo! E' nuovo, eccitante e diverso!
Fatima la mia coreografa sta mettendomi alla prova spingendomi in campi (artistici) dove non sono mai stata. Sto imparando e migliorando e mi piace!
Devo andare alle prove, vi scriverò presto.

-Qual è stata la tua migliore vacanza?
Un paio d'anni fa io e dei miei amici siamo andati alle Hawaii.
Abbiamo fatto tante di quelle cose ke nn avevo mai fatto! Abbiamo fatto surf, siamo andati in barca
o in vela e abbiamo navigato nell'oceano
-Qual è il migliore hotel dove sei mai stata?
Al Park Hyatt di Tokyo. Adoro tutto di quel posto. Ha un fantastico ristorante dove
servono l'arrosto Kobe; è così buono ke lo ordino anke x colazione! Lo staff e fantastico e i bagni stupendi
Hanno delle fighissime docce e tecnologie avanzate. Nelle docce ci sono degli skermi ke ti fanno scegliere temperatura
e tutto il resto.Mi piacciono gli hotel xkè sono pieni di comfort. Puoi ordinare il servizio in camera, andare a nuotare
oppure stare nella tua jacuzzi e rilassarti. (Eh già tu ke sei ricca sì! stai solo nelle suite! ^^ )

-Di cosa hai bisogno per una vacanza perfetta?
Nn mi piacciono le attività e gli animatori (nemmeno a me ) ma adoro l'acqua. mi piace tantissimo stare
nelle piscine o nell'oceano. Qualke volta vado a fare un giro della città x vadere il panorama
e mi piace anke andare a vedere i delfini.
-Cosa ti porti sempre con te?
Crema doposole, okkiali da sole, iPod, cappello e una fotocamera. Mi piace anke portare con me i miei cani se posso.
-Adesso quali sono i tuopi progetti x le vacanze?
Mi piacerebbe la Tailandia. (Italia no?? ) Ho sentito ke ci sono dei negozi fantastici e i soldi americani sono sopravalutati (penso ke con poki soldi americani si possa prendere tante di quelle cose...)
Voglio vedere le isole e le strade. Ci sono andata una volta ma ci sono rimasta solo 4 ore, quindi vorrei ritornarci.
Adesso passiamo ai disastri in vacanza...
-Qual è stata la tua peggiore vacanza?
Sinceramente nn ho mai avuto una brutta vacanza. Forse xkè nn ne faccio tante. Sono troppo occupata a lavorare
Qualke volta quando ero in vacanza ho provato a cucinare ma nn ne è uscito niente di buono!
-Qual è il più grande errore nel fare le valigie ke tu abbia mai fatto?
Ho troppe valigie con me e quindi quando arrivo a destinazione impiego sempre troppo tempo a disfarle.
-Qual'è il + brutto hotel dove sei mai stata?
Un Bed & Breakfast in Erie, in Pennsylvania. LA mia stanza era piena di scarafaggi e la badante ha lasciato il mio cane fuori! ^^
Per fortuna la mattina dopo ho trovato Lola fuori ke mi aspettava. NN ci tornerò mai piu in quel posto!
-Cosa eviti nelle vacanze?
Cerco di evitare le code, il caos, la folla, le diete e le kiamate del mio manager!
-Cosa odi dele vacanze?
I check-in e i lunghi voli in aereo.

Hilary Duff has spoken out about Britney Spears' breakdown, branding it "inevitable".
The singer believes Britney's teenage career was the key factor in her downfall, with the pressure put on her too much to handle.
"I feel for her," she said. "I've met her a few times and she's very sweet, hard-working and talented. Being Britney Spears must be difficult. She's been told what to do since she was young. She's not a bad mum - she's a first-time mum, and because she's famous, she's expected never to make mistakes. The pressure she's under would get to anyone. People need to leave her alone."
The 19-year-old admitted she is wary of following a similar path, but claimed she will keep her own eyes open, having seen Spears' example: "I'm not going to stop doing what I love because I'm afraid of breaking down. But I've seen how easily it happens. My sister, Haylie, and I used to live in this apartment complex with lots of young Hollywood stars. I watched lots of famous people earning too much and getting into trouble. I saw people lose everything. Thankfully, I haven't fallen into that trap."
